Office Bearers’ Conference 9:30 am "THOSE PARTS OF THE BODY THAT SEEM TO BE WEAKER ARE INDISPENSABLE"
The inclusion of special needs members in the life of the congregation.
"Now you are the body of Christ, and individually members of it" (1 Cor.12: 27). We all agree that this also applies to members who have special needs. However, do our special needs brothers and sisters feel included? In 1 Cor 12:22 we read that the parts of the body that seem to be weaker, are in fact indispensable. Do we regard our special needs mem-bers as indispensable? It is the task of offices-bearers to recognize these indispensable parts and help the congregation work with the Lord's blessings in this regard (1 Peter 4:10). How can office-bearers bring about the full participation of all members with disabilities in the life of the church? How can the congregation fully participate in the lives of brothers and sisters with disabilities? What is a disability? Are our churches ready for an accessibility audit? These are some of the questions we want to consider. We will look at what the Bible teaches about disabilities and the place of members with disabilities in the congregation. We will also look at several practical suggestions that can help office-bearers and congre-gations.
Please encourage all current and potential office bearers to come.
After the discussion, you will receive an opportunity to present any questions that you might have related to your work as office bearer. Charity 4-on-4 Hockey Tournament 10:58 am What? 4-on-4 Ice hockey tournament!
